Part II Release

It’s been a little over a week since Part II was released. It had a very positive response so far, and I find it very reassuring that people seem to be enjoying this thing that I’m doing. When it comes to these releases, the most interesting things to me is the very concept of marketing. As what you would consider to be a pretty shy artist, I’ve never been in a position where I had to sell myself or a product before, and this journey has taught me a lot about the best ways of reaching people. Things like when to make a post, the wording of it, the format it’s in, all of those things have such a tremendous effect of if people will engage or not. I’m still getting the hang of it all, to be honest. One of my biggest personal hurdles is this kind of midwestern overpoliteness, where I’m in a constant state of feeling like I’m somehow bothering people, and I shouldn’t put myself out there. Obviously this feeling runs squarely against the very concept of self advertising, so that is something I aim to work on as well. I look forward to Part III, and especially Part IV, because I feel at that point I’ll have enough footage to cut together some really great sizzle reels, and I’ll be able to sell the series to a broader audience with a more solid ideas of what it’s about and what’s to come. I look forward to those days intently.
